The Story Statement

One feeling, followed from its first spark to its settling.

A block tower falls. What happens next is the story.

Primo’s Big Feelings follows one ordinary moment inside a family’s home. A tower falls. A feeling arrives before words do. The story stays with that feeling from its first spark through its settling, without rushing past any part of it.

The story is available in two editions. Each edition holds to the same characters, the same trigger, and the same six-part structure. The language changes to match the reader.

This is a storybook, built to be read for the story itself. It leaves behind one small practice a family can return to afterward.

PrimoKids™ Prints · Primo’s Big Feelings

A story built around one feeling, told twice, for two different readers.

Primo’s Big Feelings is a story a child can ask to hear again, built from a real moment many families recognize. An adult stays present and steady throughout, without stepping in to resolve the feeling directly.

Two editions are available. Each is complete on its own. A family with children across both age bands may choose either edition, or both, since neither edition depends on the other.

Format

Printable digital storybook.

No subscription. No additional materials required.

Structure

One story. Two editions.

Each calibrated to how its reader thinks and feels at that age.

Purpose

A small, repeatable practice.

A family can use it again, in a real moment, once the story is finished.

Companion

A paced video companion.

Included with every edition. It follows the story’s own page order and plays on a shared screen for reading aloud together.

02
Two Editions

Same story. Same moment. Two ways of telling it.

The story does not change. The language calibrated to the reader does.

Both editions follow the same child, the same trigger, and the same six movements of the story. Neither edition alters what happens. What changes is how the story is told, matched to how a reader at that age actually follows a feeling.

Edition · Ages 4 to 8

Primo’s Big Feelings

Ages 4 to 8

Short, direct sentences. A feeling shown through the body first. Written to be read aloud by a caregiver and to be read alone by an eight-year-old, without changing a single word between the two.

Edition · Ages 9 to 12

Primo’s Big Feelings

Ages 9 to 12

A fully independent reader’s edition. The same moment, the same child, carried through language that allows a named feeling, a private thought, and a longer breath between one sentence and the next.

What This Domain Covers

The Feelings and Emotions domain follows one child through one difficult moment, from the moment a feeling arrives to the moment it settles. An adult stays present without stepping in too soon. The story includes more than one attempted response before settling on one small practiced action.

A small set of pages from this edition

A small set of pages is shown here to illustrate the story’s shape and language at this age band. These pages were chosen because they carry the story’s clearest turns.

Page 6 — Primo's face and fists
Page 6 Primo’s face went hot. His hands closed into fists. His breath came fast.
Page 11 — Vela in the doorway
Page 11 Vela stood in the doorway. She watched. She stayed where she was.
Page 18 — The first breath
Page 18 He took one slow breath in. He let it out slowly.
Page 21 — Fists open
Page 21 Primo’s fists opened all the way. His breath slowed down. His face cooled.
Page 26 — The crooked tower
Page 26 The tower did not reach his shoulder this time. It stood small and a little crooked. Primo looked at it and smiled.

The same moment, told for an independent reader

The same moment, carried through language built for an independent reader.

Page 5 — The tower falls, wider composition
Page 5 Nuri’s hand caught the bottom block before Primo could move. The tower swayed once, then it wasn’t a tower anymore.
Page 6 — Close on Primo's face
Page 6 His face went hot in a way that had nothing to do with the room’s temperature. His hands closed into fists before he told them to.
Page 13 — Vela seated at eye level
Page 13 “What does your body feel like right now?” she asked. Not what happened. Not why did you do that. Just his body, right now.
Page 15 — Named feeling
Page 15 “My chest feels tight. And I think I’m mad that I have to start over, not just mad at Nuri.”
Page 21 — Fists open
Page 21 For the first time since the tower fell, Primo felt like himself again, not like the feeling.
Page 26 — The crooked tower
Page 26 It was not the tower he had first imagined. It was the tower he had actually built, and something about that made him smile anyway.
Page 50 — Real-Life Practice
Page 50 Real-Life Practice. The same breath, carried through a longer interior reflection. Back matter for this edition speaks to the reader directly.

The Practice

One small action, practiced again and again.

Every story in this domain leaves behind one small, repeatable practice. In this story, the practice is a breath. It is introduced inside the story, tried more than once, and returned to at the story’s close.

A caregiver note and a real-life activity page follow the story itself. Both stay brief and optional, complete without anything beyond the book.

The Video Companion

A Paced Companion for Reading Aloud Together

Every edition includes a video companion in the same download. It presents the story’s finished illustrations in page order, each image held for a calibrated length of time.

The video carries no narration by design. A caregiver reads the words aloud from the page, or tells the story from memory beside the video, using their own voice and their own pace.

The companion is built for a shared screen, such as a tablet, a computer, or a television. It also opens on a mobile device for a quick look.

The video companion works alongside the printable pages, included together in one download. It is ready for the nights a shared screen is the easiest way to tell the story.
